What is Acne?
Acne, medically known as acne vulgaris, is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. This blockage leads to a variety of lesions, including whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, and in more severe cases, cysts or nodules. While most common during adolescence, acne can affect individuals of all ages and skin types.
What is Rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic, non-contagious inflammatory skin condition that primarily affects the face. It is characterized by persistent redness, visible blood vessels (telangiectasia), swelling, and, in some cases, acne-like breakouts. Other symptoms may include flushing, burning, skin sensitivity, and thickening of the skin—particularly around the nose (rhinophyma).
While rosacea can be a lifelong condition, its symptoms often come and go in flare-ups and can be effectively managed with the right combination of professional care, skincare, and lifestyle adjustments.
